Staff from Mayo’s Department of Facilities and several falcon experts retrieved the chicks from their nest box and transported them to the auditorium, where they were weighed, banded, given a quick health exam and officially named. This year, the falcon team received over 5,000 name suggestions from more than 1,500 falcon fans. Watch this brief video of the female chicks, named Riya and Aria, as they receive their identification bands and are introduced to the audience.
Riya and Aria are growing fast so be sure to keep up with their progress on the website and Facebook page.
