Heritage Film receives multiple top awards in an international competition
“Rising to the Challenge: The Mayo Aero Medical Unit in World War II” was recently honored as one of the top ten films in the internationally recognized Accolade Global Film Competition. In addition, the 36-minute documentary received two Awards of Excellence for research and viewer Impact.
The latest production in the series of Mayo Clinic Heritage Films, “Rising to the Challenge” tells the story of Mayo’s innovative work to protect World War II pilots from the deadly effects of high altitude and G-force.
The Accolade competition attracts entries from film, TV and media professionals around the world. In announcing the Award of Excellence Special Mention, the competition director said: “The judges firmly believe that your entry was exceptional, showing depth of craft and creativity that is truly unique.” On the Accolade website, the judges pronounced the film “exceptionally well-researched and tightly crafted, outstanding in every way.”
